Fall/Winter & Spring 2011/2012

We made it to Greenwood IN to Camping World for the night. Of course we had to go to the store and shop and then to Bob Evans for supper. Its getting cold here tonight and tomorrow and we talk to friends at home an they say it is snowing there. Better get rid of the stuff we are coming home. We should be home today around 2 or 3 o'clock and hope its not to cold so I can get the water back on.
Well got home around 1 p.m. yesterday and everything is back on an running. Today we start putting things together here at home and getting things change out in the 5th wheel. Man it needs a bath. Its good to be back home for a while. So now its ready to pack for mushrooming with Don & Carol. Also will be going on vacation with them. Also need to get pontoon ready for fishing with friends (Chuck & Vickie). We also have a couple of rallies to go to this summer. Busy, Busy, Busy and life is good.

Fall/Winter & Spring 2011/2012

Lois & I made it to New London MO around 2:30 p.m. today (Sat) staying in a Good Sam's park but its not a good one for the price you pay. It rained most of the way over here today. I got tired so we stop for the night.
Sunday morning and Happy Easter to all our friends. Lois  & I decided to go to Cuba MO for a couple of days so we could see Reggie & Amanda. We arrive here on Sunday morning and set up and drove about 21 miles over to there house but they was not home so we left a note that we had been there. Lois put it on Reggie truck. Got back to camp & try to get TV but good not. I ask the owner if we could move up the hill to an other spot. After finally getting set up again we did get some TV. On Monday we went back over to see Reggie & Amanda and as we was pulling into his drive Reggie was cutting grass and took a double take to make sure he saw what he thought he saw (us). We sat around for a while an talk and then went to Steake & Shake for lunch. After lunch we drove around and the Lady's  decided to go into Kohl's to look around and Reggie & I went next door to Lowe's. When we got back to their house we sat around for a while and Amanda wanted to fix supper for us so eat some more. It was a good supper with Spare Ribs and all.
We got back to camp about 8 p.m. and watch a little TV until about 10 p.m. and went to bed. Tomorrow we head for Greenwood IN at Camping World for the night and then home.

Fall/Winter & Spring 2011/2012

Its Saturday morning around 6:30 a.m. and we are getting ready to hit the road again. Yesterday Lois & I went to Topeka KS where I was station back in 1963 to 1967 (Forbes AFB). We stop in at a ANG Museum that is at the or was the main gate back about 50 years ago. Its called Forbes Field now. I could see a big building standing where my barracks was. It brought a lot of memories back of my time here at Forbes AFB. After that Lois & I went to Lawrence KS to a Wal-Mart for some things and then back to camp. Later that afternoon Bill & Sharon took us to Lawrence for dinner and they also show us how to get out of the area with out hitting a lot of traffic.

Fall/Winter & Spring 2011/2012

We started to leave Chanute Ks yesterday but the landing gear would not work. After checking thing out and a neighbor helping we had to go and replace a gear box. Finally we got out of Chanute around noon and headed north. We stopped at Cedar Ridge COE Park on Clinton Lake near Lawrence KS. A friend of ours is working here for the summer. We thought we would relax for a couple of days before we headed for home. Oh forgot to mention that after we set up and turn the water on we had a leak inside from the city inlet but a quit fix.

Fall/Winter & Spring 2011/2012

Well today is Thursday and we are leaving Chanute KS. Yesterday we had all four springs replaced on the 5th wheel. When I went to pick up the rig I notice that that the space between the wheels was different from one side to the  other. Roger (who works for Youngs) look at it and said that they should have raised the 5th wheel on hole and they should have checked the equalizers to. After checking an replacing the equalizers the space between the wheels changed a whole lot. Now I don't have to worried about having tire problems. I can tell you that Youngs Welding is a top notch business and they take care of their customers.

Monday has come and past and our 5th wheel will be ready today between 10 & 11 a.m.. First the slide outs needed to be cut open bigger and then the slide cylinder quit working and that cost about $300 and then we have to take the 5th wheel over to Youngs welding to have springs put on the front axle and that cost is over $400. Needles to say Monday was not a good day. Oh did I mention we also had to stay in a Motel for the night. The cat keep us up most of the night so we are going to get a nap this afternoon sometime. Will get the springs put on Wednesday  and hopefully leave on Thursday.
