Hi there I'm back to catch this up starting from the Jan. 2nd to Jan. 12th.
Jan. 2 was about 28 degrees in the morning. Ron and Nancy called about going to Buchanan Dam area. We will meet up with them on Friday Shady Oaks R.V. Park. Went to Wall Mart and then stay at camp rest of the day. Leaving in the morning for Buchanan Dam.
Jan. 3 left Livingston TX for Buchanan Dam around 9am. Its still cold and 28 degrees here. Arrived at Buchanan Dam - Shady Oaks RV Park up in the hills. Ron & Nancy was waiting for us. Ron guided us back in to the camp. We went up in the hills on this small road and then down into the camp by Inks Dam were the camp ground is. It is 2 3/4 miles off 29 onto 301. We going to stay here for a week, lots to see here.Got park and visited with Ron & Nancy. The deer come right up to your camper. Not a real big camp ground but a real nice one. Big oak trees here and they are about 1700 years old.
Jan 4 we went into Marble Falls TX. to get some groceries and fill truck up. We took Ron & Nancy with us and they show us around the town. We stop a little Mexican Restaurant off of some side street. Not bad food there but very warm. Returned to camp for the rest of the day.
Jan 5 stayed around camp all day and just cleaned and rearranged things. Nice park and friendly people here. The men have coffee every morning at the club house around 8am before the day starts.
Jan 6 warm today about 68 degrees. Went with Ron & Nancy to Marble Falls to Home Depot & Wal Mart. Stopped and ate lunch at Storms in Kingsly. Went back to camp and checked e-mail and just relaxed. About 6pm went over to Ron & Nancy. Ron & Ron had fish. and just sit and visted for a while. Nobody moves around much after 6pm. Its real quit here.
Jan 7 another warm morning 67 degrees - cloudy - afternoon cleared and 76 degrees. Went to Llano to go on Willow City loop. On the way we stopped at the Post Office for some stamps and Lois was offer a Job there (part time). Then drove in the hills to looking for Eagles. Did not see any. Stopped at Coopers BBQ for a late lunch. Food good but a little over priced.
Jan 8 70 dregrees. Lois did laundry than put perm in her hair and did ironing. I took Ron into town so he could get his truck fix.
Jan 9 had coffee with guys and took Ron back into get his truck and came back to camp to get things ready to pull out in the morning.
Jan 10 sunny 50 degrees went for coffee while Lois got things around so we can leave. Left at 9:45am and arrived at Sea Wind about 4:30pm. We would go back to Shady Oaks again, nice camp ground and very frindley people.
Jan 11 sunny 78 degrees real nice. Guest what? Lois and I went to Wal Mart again to get groceries and fuel for the truck ($3.21 a gal). When we got back to camp Bill and Judye had just pulled in. We sat and talked and walked around camp after they had set up camp. Bill and I called Dave & Trish and Greg & Judy. Greg & Judy are in Livingston Tx, they will meet up with us maybe in the valley. Went in early this evening.
Jan 12 51 degrees this morning. Washed trailer & windows. Today was a good day for it. Went to Whatabuger for supper with Bill & Judye.

Well its New Years Day but does not feel like it. After we left Marshall IL. We stop in West Memphis Arkansas and then Texarkana Arkansas. We are now in Texas at the Escapees Campground in Livingston TX. Staying for about three days before we go over to the center of the State.
Lois did Laundry today but had to go to Wally World first. It seems that I pickup a screw in my tire and had to get it fix first. Its cold here and we looking at about 28 degrees Tonight . I thought I left the cold weather up North.

Then we had rain and snow and rain until we got too Marshall IL. We stay in a State Park there. Now let me tell you that you can get a Four Wheel Drive Truck stuck. $150.00 later and two hours we finally park it. Pictures to follow later.

Winter
Looks like we are in for another storm again. It seems like every weekend there is a storm coming thur here. Still looking for a good used truck but no luck yet. I hope there is no storm on the 28th so we can get out of here. Have not done much lately, just trying to stay warm. Lois and I are going to see a Elvis impersonator tonight in Kalamazoo. Lois won the tickets on the local radio station the other day.

Winter
Just read Greg & Judy blog and yes we did get some bad weather up here last nite. Rain, sleet, snow and cold. When we got up it was warmer than when we went to bed. Its already melting, should be about 43 degrees today.
Most of Saturday was on the Internet looking for a truck. Have not found one yet but seen a couple that look interesting.
Well that about all that happen Saturday. Until I write again you all have a nice warm day.

At Home
Well we are still here in cold Michigan, but its getting closer to time to leave. Thursday went to a car auction with a friend of mind looking for a truck, no luck this time. Going back next Thursday to see if I can find one. Its was first time to one and it was a blast, you can get some good deals. My buddy bought a couple of 4 wheelers (new ones) cheap.
Lois and I went to Grand Rapids on Friday to get a couple of things from Camping World. We than just drove around looking at dealers for a truck (no luck yet).
We are expecting a winter storm Saturday sometime (1 to 4 in.) but by Sunday it should be gone cause the warm coming in.
