Summer 2010

Its was a beautiful day yesterday. In the 90's and sunny. We all went to the casino and play for a couple of hours and came back to the camp site and play Peg's & Jokers. Around 8:30 we went to Hermansville to watch the fire works. This a very small town just a few miles north east of the casino. They had quit the show of fire works for such a small town. It was well worth going and seeing the fire works there.

Summer 2010

On Wednesday we drove on back roads to Menominee MI and had lunch at the Pizza Hut there and then we drove over to Marinette WI.

Yesterday we drove about 230 miles north west of here on some more back roads to Watersmeet MI. It just happens to have a casino there. We stop and play a little but did not have any luck. On the way to Watersmeet MI we stop at a little town to have lunch. After we got back to camp we show the rest of the gang how to play Pegs & Jokers.

Summer 2010

Monday we left around 9:30 am a went to Iron Mountain. On the way we stop at Fumee Falls. Then we stop at Pine Mountain where the Ski Jump is. That is where they practice for Olympics. While we was there we visited a Veteran Memorial that had been added to the grounds. After that we drove thru Iron Mountain and went over to Wisconsin in a small town (Kingsford) to have lunch and then back to camp.

Well we made it to the casino camp ground. We set up camp and then went to the casino to register and do a little gambling. Later we all had a spaghetti dinner at the camp site. The ladies went and play bingo and us guys went back to Escanaba to Wal-Mart for a couple of movies. We only get one channel up here. While there we check out the fair grounds just to see how many was left there. There was a few left yet but I think most will leave tomorrow.

Saturday night we saw or I saw the Da Yoopers show. They really tune it down compare to there normal show. Lois did not make the last night she was not feeling well.

Its Sunday and we said our goodbyes and broke camp and drove about 20 miles to Island Resort Casino. We will be camping at the casino till after the 4th of July.

Summer 2010

Well we got here in Escanaba MI about 10:30 am and set up camp for the week. We got all sign in on Wednesday I pulled guard duty for the next two nights from 8-10 pm. Lois worked with the raffle tickets on Thursday and she will again on Saturday. I pick up a cold the first we got here and now Lois is getting it. Lois play Bingo on Wednesday a won a couple of times. We got to play golf on Friday morning and the team I was on took first place and the team Lois was on was in last place. It was a best ball and we all had a good time. There is Entertainment here all three nights the first night was a Barbershop Quartet and last night a band play from the area. They were good and to night the DA YOOPERS will be here (can't miss that show). Well its been raining here all week off and on and today is no exception.

Summer 2010/Escanaba Michigan

We took off yesterday for the U.P. of Michigan. We stopped at North Higgins Lake State Park for the night. The reason we stopped here was we know the Host. We met Connie down in Texas last winter and found out she was from MI. She pulls here fifth wheel and is full timing it by here self. She is a little rough around the edges but that is Connie. We met here son and two grand daughters and had a camp out supper with them.

We will be heading across the bridge today headed for Escanaba MI for a Good Sam Rally. We will be there for a couple of weeks before we head home.
