Fall/Winter & Spring 2011/2012

Well today is Thursday and we are leaving Chanute KS. Yesterday we had all four springs replaced on the 5th wheel. When I went to pick up the rig I notice that that the space between the wheels was different from one side to the  other. Roger (who works for Youngs) look at it and said that they should have raised the 5th wheel on hole and they should have checked the equalizers to. After checking an replacing the equalizers the space between the wheels changed a whole lot. Now I don't have to worried about having tire problems. I can tell you that Youngs Welding is a top notch business and they take care of their customers.

Fall/Winter & Spring 2011/2012

Monday has come and past and our 5th wheel will be ready today between 10 & 11 a.m.. First the slide outs needed to be cut open bigger and then the slide cylinder quit working and that cost about $300 and then we have to take the 5th wheel over to Youngs welding to have springs put on the front axle and that cost is over $400. Needles to say Monday was not a good day. Oh did I mention we also had to stay in a Motel for the night. The cat keep us up most of the night so we are going to get a nap this afternoon sometime. Will get the springs put on Wednesday  and hopefully leave on Thursday.

Fall/Winter & Spring 2011/2012

Lois & I made it to WinStar Casino here in Thackervill OK about 3:30 p.m. yesterday (Tuesday). I took about 7 hrs to do the 356 mile trip. I don't normally like to travel that many miles in a day but I felt like driving so we did. Steve & Susie show up with their son JD on Wednesday evening. After they got set up we all went to the Casino for a bite to eat. Yesterday we all met and went to breakfast at the Casino and it was free to seniors. We left Steve & Susie for Chanute and they headed for Austin TX. We will see them in Michigan MM in August.
Lois and I arrive in Chanute KS about 4 pm yesterday (Thursday) and set up for the week-end. We need some work done on the 5th wheel and have to have it there Monday at 7 a.m..

Fall/Winter & Spring 2011/2012

Lois & I decided to stay one more day and leave on Saturday instead. I think we will stay a Canyon Lake TX on the way up for a couple of days but not for sure yet.
Well its Saturday morning and we are getting things around so we can leave the Valley. This is are last time to see the Valley cause we will be going some place else next year.

We stay here at Potters Creek COE Park on Canyon Lake TX for three nights. This place is worth coming back to. We also stop in on some friends (Ron & Roberta) that was park across the lake from us in Cranes Mill COE Park which as about 40 sites with W&E. Lois & I enjoyed a camp fire with our neighbors the other night. We will leave today for Thackerville OK and stay there for a couple of days and hope that Steve & Susie will make it down on Wednesday before we leave on Thursday for Chanute KS.

Fall/Winter & Spring 2011/2012

Its been a month since I have said anything on this blog. Well Lois & I are getting thing put up so we can leave here in a few days. We would leave sooner but there are storms coming thru the area right now so we decided to hold up here till they clear and we are waiting till the winds are out of the south too. We hope to meet up with Greg & Judy on the way thru to Kansas and also with Steve & Susie. I think we will leave by Friday but we will wait and see.

Tuesday Feb 21st
Its been a couple of weeks since I have wrote anything or had anything to say. Well we have been at a Michigan  Good Sams Luncheon at the Shrinners Club in Pharr and a Good Sams Rendezvous at Peter Piper in Alamo. Then there was a Hitchhiker Luncheon at Mr. Gatti's in McAllen and then a Michigan breakfast at Victoria Palms in Donna. It kind of looks like all we do is eat. I once was told it was all about food.

Well on Friday Feb 17th we had to put Mittens down. That was one of the hardest things to do was to say good by to her. It was best for her cause she had cancer and was not getting any better. She had lost half her body weight and was still losing weight. She will be missed.
 We also had a camp fire among all this one afternoon with friends in the park.

On Sunday we went with Myron & Sherry to La Joya to the performing arts center to watch a group of high school kids perform. We was there last year and now this year again and all I can say those kids get do one heck of a job in performing. I would go again to watch them perform. After that we stop at Logans in McAllen for a bite to eat. Some of the pictures I took of the performing arts was a little blured.

Saturday February 11 2012

Reggie & Amanda with Lois

Its been a couple of weeks since I wrote anything down. There has not been much going on but we did get over to the Kite Fest last week on Saturday & Sunday. We went with Reggie & Amanda on Saturday and on Sunday  Myron & Sherry went with us. Before that Lois play cards with the ladies from the park and on Friday her, Sherry & Lydia went to McAllen TX to little Mexico and spent the whole day shopping. Myron & I just enjoyed the quit time. Tuesday this week we had a Michigan Good Sam Luncheon at he Shriner's in  Pharr TX. We also had a Good Sam Rendezvous  in Alamo TX on Thursday. There was about 358 Good Samers there.
