On the road again

Well we are on the road heading to Florida for the winter. Our first stop was in Edinburgh IN for the night. When we was ready to leave in the morning our slide did not work. Come to find out a L bracket snap into so had to have it welded back and a brace welder also. After getting back on the road we stop in Nashville TN for a couple of days. Getting back on the road again we than stop just south of Atlanta GA for the night. The next stop was in Cedar Keys FL for a couple of days before we landed here at  SKP The Resort where we will be working camping for the winter.

Heading for warmer Florida

Well not much going this summer here at home just a lot of doctor and hospital schedules. Lois and I are get just about ready to  head for warmer places. The rig is almost  packed and ready for travel. Ther will be more at a later time till then have a geat day.

Home in Michigan

Well we been home since the last of April trying to get things caught up around here. We did go to Iowa for a week with her sister. Also went to Coldwater MI for a Escapees rally there and we just got back from a few days down in Shipshewana IN. I did get the shed sided before we left for Shipshewana IN. Not sure what else we have planed except the M & M rally in Aug.

SKP Park

Its been a long time since I wrote anything here. Lois & I have not done to much this winter. We went to a couple of flea markets  and been going out to eat with friends in the area. We have had a good winter so far. Its been little cooler and little more rain than last year, but nice. Today we are going over to by Sarasota FL to the Amish community. Will I be get ready to go will write more latter.
Well we went over to the Amish community and look around but they don't have the stores like they do back in Shipshewana IN. We was going to eat at the restaurant but it was a hour and half wait so we left. Not much else to say at this time.

Avon Park FL Music on the Mall

Yesterday evening we went to Avon Park to listen to a band call California Toe Jam. They play music from the 50's, 60's and 70's. We met Larry and Bev there so it was a good evening of music and good friends. Here is a video I took of them playing. This the first time I use my phone for it. Not to sturdy holding the phone and some lady walk right in front of me. After the show we went to Windy's for a burger. Not a good burger at the one.

Wauchula Florida 2014

Well we took about 8:30 am and headed for Wauchula FL. We all travel together tell we got on I-75 and we split up. Charlie & Alene took the turnpike for Winter FL and the rest of us went on down to Wauchula to The Resort. We arrive here about 6:00 pm on Saturday. It was a 8.5 hour day on the road so we was tried when arrive. We just sit up level up and got electric and water hook up and call it a day. Now that we settle in we started our work camping job yesterday the 15th of Oct till 15th April.

Our Trip to Saint George Island Florida 2014

Lois & I left Wednesday the 1st of October heading to Saint George Island Florida. Our first stop was in Greenwood In at Camping World Store. We park the rig and went to the store to let them know we was park for the night. While in the store did look to see if we wanted anything and walk out without buying a thing. This is the first time that has happen. We were up and moving down the road again headed to Gallatin TN. to see Roger & June Post. They have a place were we work camp and became friends. They were surprised to see us. We had a good time talking for a couple of hours and headed back to the COE Park for the night. We took are time getting around Friday morning cause we was only going about 250 miles to Calera AL at the Camping World Store. We got there  it was full and a  few rigs waiting for a spot for the nite. Lois & I decided to go on down the road and found a camp ground in Montgomery AL for the night. This day was a 335 miles instead of 250 miles. Anyway it is a full hookup and I got a good and needed shower. Oh by the way while I was hooking up the water the water regulator blew apart and I took a shower sooner then I wanted to.
Well we are in Marianna FL for a couple of days so Lois can get some laundry done. We can not get into are site till Monday on St George Island.
We arrive at St George Island around 1:30pm yesterday and set up camp. This site is real tight and you can not see the Gulf. Our friends show up about and hour after we did and set up camp now Bub & Tinker are due in today. We ate at a place in Apalachicola FL with Charlie & Alene. You have to cross a lot of bridges to go from one town to the next around here. Its cloudy today so we might go back into town. Its about ten miles into town from the state park. Four of it is from the main gate to our site.
Bub & Tinker arrive about 2:30 pm and set up camp. About hour after they set up they came over and and so did Charlie & Alene. We talk for a couple of hours and then had supper. Last night we good get TV so we good watch some. Charlie & Alene came over and we play peg & jokers for a while.

Yesterday we went to the beach on the Gulf of Mexico. The picture on the left is were they was helping Alene up because she fell down and had trouble getting up. We were out there for about a hour and half. Later we had Shrimp and Scalps on the grill that Alene had fix. That evening we play cards for a while.

This morning we got up later than usual and had company with Bub & Tinker and also Charlie & Alene. I guess we talk for about 3 hours.  We really did not do much today except hang around the camp site and talk. Around 5 pm we all went out BJ's for Pizza and came back and we show Tinker & Bub how to play Pegs and Jokers. Well the women won three games but it was a close. Today we are having B&G for breakfast. Alene is doing the gravy and Lois & I are doing the biscuit and I will do the scrambled eggs. After breakfast we went over to Panama City to the Camping World store. As we headed there we drove through Tyndal Air Force Base and saw some jets doing touch and go's. The rest of the day we will start getting things pack up so we can leave in the morning for Wauchula FL.
