Saturday Oct 29th

Well we made it through our first week of work with little pain or soreness. Lois said we have eight (8) more weeks to go of this thing we call work. We also got our first paid check that was direct deposited.

Lois sister came down here to Campbellsville KY the other day to visit us. They are staying a few days before they head for Gulf Shores AL. I think they brought the cold weather with them from Michigan. Its was 29 degrees here this morning. The high is only going to be in the low 50's today. Just eight(8) more weeks and we go to warmer weather.

Wednesday Oct 26th

Just killing time before we have to go to work. While we was sitting around a bird flew up and sat on the ladder looking right at Mittens. What do you think those two cats was thinking of at this time.

In the past week or so we have had a couple of camp fires. We made a fire ring out of some old stone that was laying around and dug out in the middle of it for the pit. We also went to town and bought fire wood. They want to charge you here a $1.00 a piece for wood. It is great to sit around a fire and just relax a little. You can see that I am doing just that.

Monday Oct. 24th

It was a nice week-end here in Campbellsville KY. On Saturday afternoon we took a drive to to the COE Park and watch a video on the Green River Area. It was interesting to watch an learn things about this area. We will be taking a 3 mile driving tour here about Tebbs Bend-Green River Bridge Battlefield that happen on July 4 1863. Maybe next week-end since it is to be a nice week-end again here. I took some pictures at the COE visitors center and will post them in the near future.

Today we will start our 5 hour days which is Monday thru Friday. I think it will be a lot better this way then 3 days of 10 hours a day or 40 hours a week. We are not as young as we once was so you got to pace yourself a little.

Saturday Oct 22nd and its foggy outside this morning and the temp. was around 40 degrees. We completed of training this week and start our shift on Monday. Lois said she is glad we are not doing 3 ten (10) hours days in a row. She thinks she will like the 5 days at 5 hours a day much better. We have had a few more units pull in this week so they can get started on Monday for their training. Over all Amazon said there should be about 600 work campers here this season. Tell I write more you all have a great week-end we will.

Wednesday Oct 19th and we have some changes to our schedule . Lois and I are working from 11:45 a.m. till 4:45 p.m. Monday thru Friday five (5) hours a day. Lois is picking and I am packing product for single items. Things are not what we was told a couple of weeks ago before we came down here. Will we will just have to deal with it for now and its only for about 10 weeks.

Today it is a little chilly around 48 degrees and rainy. I guess we got a cold spell here for a couple of days. Should be back up by the first of the week around the 60's mark. We got our water lines wrapped for the stay here till we leave in Dec.

We had a nice week end here in Campbellsville KY with weather be in the upper 70's and mid 80's. I took a couple of pictures where we are camp and also some of the Green River Marina. There are house boats on the marina that are worth over $200,000.

Today we will have a get together at the Heartland RV Park. On Tuesday we will have orientation/Safety School. Then we will be working 5 hours shift the rest of the week and next week. Our shift is Wednesday thru Friday 10 hours a day after this first two weeks.
