Wednesday 3/27/13
Well its that time to head home. We should leave around 8 a.m. today heading home but first we need to stop at the camp ground we will be staying next year so they can measure for our patio. After that we head north to the cold country.
Thursday 3/28/13
We stop in Cullman AL for night on are way north. Should be in Indiana some time this afternoon. Its about 31 degrees here this morning. Hope it gets warmer as the day goes on.
Saturday 3/30/13
On Thursday we drove 426 miles to Greewood IN and stay at the Camping World parking lot for the night. On Friday we drove to Goshen IN to meet Lois sister and brother-in-law and will be here till Monday April Fools Day. Should be home before noon.
This morning woke up and the water was frozen. I know that we are here way to early and should be still in the south. Next year we will not be back till a much later date in April.
Tuesday 4-2-13
We are home as of yesterday around 11 a.m.. Hook the water up and then the fun began. First the kitchen faucet would not work and we was not getting much water out of the other faucet either. Well come to find out a pipe came loose under the mobile home. Call my nephew and he came over and help me get it repair. All I need today is to put the kitchen faucet back together. Well that was not the only thing that happen. While Lois was doing dishes the sewer line back up and now we have a plugged sewer line. After a few hours playing with that I think we are set to get things done here so we can settle back in. We will see what happens.

Foley Alabama 2012/13
Thursday 1/10/13
Well I guess I had better put something here since I started it over a week ago. We arrive here at Blue Grass RV Park on Sunday the 30th of December. We got are self set up and wash the rig cause it really did need it. Both Lois and I came down with colds and have had them for over a week now. Its starting to get better but its Lois second time this winter she has come down with it. I took a couple of pictures of the camp ground here.

Its been a couple of weeks since I wrote anything here. Lois & I both came down with a cold and spent a few days trying to get rid of it. We have not done to much since we have been down here. Met a few HH people for lunch the last couple of weeks. Been to Pensacola FL couple of times and over toward Mobile AL a couple of times. Gary & Arlene got down here about a week ago. They have been checking the area out. Maybe we will get out and see more in the next few weeks that are left here.
Tuesday 2/5/13
Saturday & Sunday I wax the the front the 5th wheel. It took me two days to wax it. I must be getting old . On Monday we went around 1:30 PM to Lambert's for a bit to eat. Mike & Sandy and Steve and Kathy went also. Today we are going to Gulf Shores to eat lunch with some other Hitchhikers in the area. We seem to be getting together every week for lunch. Tomorrow we are going to the Navel Air Museum over in Pensacola FL.

Went to Naval Air Museum on Wednesday with a few friends.
We was here at 9 a.m. and was here all day
Thursday went over to the Train Museum here in Foley AL to see the model trains set that they had set up.
On Friday three of us went back over to the Navel Air Museum to go through Hanger One. It was not any where as big as the first bldg. we went through last week.

Thursday went over to the Train Museum here in Foley AL to see the model trains set that they had set up.

Monday 2/25/13
Well its been a couple of days since I wrote anything on the blog. It has been so rainy here since we have been down here. Friday I came down with the stomach flu or what ever they call it and have been indoors for the last few days. Last night Lois came down with the same thing that I had. Its has not been a fun winter here this year. We have about four (4) week left before we head for home, maybe we will have some nice weather in March. It rain all night long and is still raining. Well lets hope things look up here in the near future.

Well its not raining but its chilly outside this morning, around 41 degrees. Its been a week since I have been dealing with this so call stomach flu. Lois has been dealing with in since Sunday and we both been close to the bathroom. I am feeling better but still not a 100% yet. Going out to breakfast and meet Greg this morning and I think Paul might come over to.

Looks like Lois and I are pretty much over the bug we had. Yesterday we went to a HH luncheon at
Big Daddy grill on the river. We had 18 people there for lunch.

Well its been a few days since I wrote anything on the blog. Lois and I are still waiting for the weather to clear up. Well I mean up north so we can get back home. It looks like there is another storm coming across the mid west from the west. So we will just sit this out till its over. Looks like we won't leave till next week some time later in the week.

On The Road to Foley Alabama
Sunday 12/23/12
We & Mike & Sandra arrive here in Thackerville OK at the Winstar Casino around 2:30 p.m.. After we set up camp for a couple of days before we head toward Alabama. On the way down Mike blew off a turbo hose just before we came into the R.V. Park. It looks like we might get some cold weather here on Christmas with rain and snow.
Tuesday Christmas Day 12/25/12
Just sitting here in the 5th wheel watching the rain fall and waiting for the cold to turn this into snow tonight. We are supposed to leave tomorrow but will not if the roads are bad. Merry Christmas everyone.
Friday 12/28/12
What a couple of days it has been. First the storm on Christmas Day and then all the ice & snow on the 5th wheel slide outs. Took most of the afternoon on Wednesday to get the ice of the two slide outs in the living room. Then on Thursday the T.V. antenna was froze so I could not put it down. Lois had a good idea to use water to thaw it out so we could turn it and lower it down to travel with. The bedroom slide did not take to long to get almost all the ice of it. We left about 10:20 a.m. with Mike & Sandra from Winstar Casino and headed for Alabama. The first stop was in Greewood LA just outside of Sheveport LA for the night. Today we will stop in Marksville LA for a night or two.
Monday 12/31/12 New Years Eve
We finally made it here to Blue Grass yesterday around 4 p.m. and set up camp or till I can get this 5th wheel washed. We drove about 328 miles yesterday with no problems.

Thursday 10/18/12
Well here it is the day we have to go and check in with Amazon. We need to be over at Amazon around 1 p.m. for a get together and tomorrow for orientation. Then I think they will have us working this week-end. Well our Tigers did it and I miss the game on T.V. but they are going to the World Series this year (GO TIGERS).
Saturday 10/20/12
On Friday we went back to Amazon and did a lot of paper work and watch a couple of movies. After that we went out to eat. We start to work on Sunday for just a half a day and off all next week till Saturday when we start are shift.
Wednesday 10/24/12
Today we are going to Chanute KS to get a few things at the RV store there. Mike & Sandra are going with us. After we get back there is a October Fest at the camp ground. Tomorrow we will be going to Bartlesville OK and of course to the Casino there.
Monday 10/29/12
We worked that last couple of days only half days and next week-end we will work only one half day and start Sunday working full days. So we have a full week of doing nothing except going shopping with the ladies. We watch the Tigers lose the World Series last night in four straight games. Today I will go and get propane and just bump around. There is not much to do here in Coffeyville KS.

Well its been a week of not doing much but we did go to Tulsa OK and the ladies did some shopping. We also stop at the Hard Rock Casino for a while and I came out a few bucks ahead this time. Saturday was our last day of work hardening and yesterday was our first full day of work. I can say that I'm sore and a little slower today and so is Lois.

Oh I almost forgot to tell you about a old bus that came into the park a couple of weeks ago. See is believing so here is a couple of pictures.
Its been a long week last week waiting to go to work on Saturday & Sunday. We did not do much last week but just stay around camp till we went to work. The weather was real nice for most of the week until Sunday when we got a ton of rain here and it got down into the mid to high 20's in the mornings for the last couple of days.. Yesterday we went to Barletsville OK with Mike & Sandra so the ladies could do some shopping. Of course we went to three (3) casino and Lois & I came out ahead this time.
Monday 11/26/12
Its been a couple of weeks since I have written anything about this place we are at, but there has not been much to write about. We have been working on week-ends and now are working a few extra hours when they lets us. On Thanksgiving we went to a place call The Landings for a turkey dinner which was all
free but did ask for donations which went to the Red Cross and the Salvation Army. The food was good and we had plenty to eat. Then this last Saturday at work they had a Turkey Dinner for all of us. We also had plenty to eat there. It is all about food.

We thought we would be on the road today but three or four days ago we got a e-mail from Amazon that we would be working on Saturday December 22nd and that would be are last day. So we will work extra day or so before Saturday and leave on Sunday. This will be are last time here at Amazon.
Today I will hook the water back up till Friday & then I will dump the tanks so we can leave on Sunday.

Well we did not get out of Coffeyville KS soon enough because we had a trice of snow on the ground this morning. Its going to be getting a lot colder here in the next week and we just miss a major storm last night here. Will be glade to leave on Sunday for warmer places. Tonight we will go and have hamburgers at Jacks for the last time. There will be rigs leaving in the morning the rest of the week end here.

Trip to Coffeyville KS Fall 2012
Saturday 10/6/12
Well its that time of year again and Lois & I are busy getting things around so we can leave on Monday for the winter. We are heading for Coffeyville KS first to work at Amazon.com and then spend the winter in Alabama. First we got to winterize the place here and most of that will be done on Monday morning just before we head out.
Sunday 10/7/12
One more day before we leave for the winter. Yesterday I top off for fuel and stop by to see a friend. Today Lois is busy cleaning and doing laundry before we leave. Friskers is doing his normal thing laying around and sleeping. Lois said we needed to go the store sometime today. Well after we got back from the store I decided to blow the leaves out of the yard. After doing that I went to close the big slide on the fifth wheel and only one side of it came in and I heard a big bang when I put it back out. Then I look and saw that the side that did not go in had drop down below the floor level and had push out the out the wall a little. After further inspection and removing the belly pan I found out that the shaft running across from the other side of the slide was not working. So in the morning after it warms a little I will drop the other belly pan and look to see what damage there is. We will not be leaving in the morning for Kansas till I get the slide fixed.
Monday 10/8/12
Its Monday morning and I have had my coffee and ready to go to work on the 5th wheel. But first Lois & I went for breakfast with Chuck & Vickie. After breakfast Chuck came over to help me and so did Gary from next door. After drop part of the belly pan we discover that the Gear Pack had almost all the teeth broke off. Gary and I left for Goshen to go get Gear Pack at Lippert and it cost us $100 for it. If we had order it from NUWA it would only have cost us about $52 for the part and shipping. After we got back I put the part back in and align the slide with help of Chuck & Gary. Everything seems to be working find at this time. Got one more thing to do and that is to put lag bolts in the side wall so it won't move.
I believe we are planning leaving on Wednesday or Thursday if the winds calm down a little.

Got this morning and my whole body hurts from crawling on ground under the 5th wheel yesterday. Got to wait till it gets a little warmer before I go out to work on the 5th wheel. After Don & Gary show up we manage to adjust the slide and anchor the wall back in place with two carriage bolts. The rest of the day we finish loading the the 5th wheel. We should be on the before 10 a.m.

We left around 9:30 a.m. after we shut the water off and drain the hot water heater and put the bikes in the shed. Said are good by's to our neighbors and off we went. We arrive in Greenwood IN around 2:30 p.m. at the Camping World and we had to go an buy something while we are here. The parking lot is very full of RV's and we almost did not find a spot.
Thursday 10/11/12
Its about 9:30 a.m. and we are heading to meet up with Betty. She is a friend we met down in Texas and she lives in Terra Haute IN. We met here Brazil IN at a truck stop for coffee and had a great time talking and visiting with her. She might be in Alabama this year for a while. Hope we can meet up with her before she goes back home. I guess we spent about two (2) hours with her before we headed for Cuba MO. We arrive here about 4:30 p.m. and set up camp for a couple of nights. On Friday we will go and see Reggie & Amanda.
Friday 10/12/12
Lois & I spent the day with Reggie & Amanda. When we first got there we sat around and talk a while as Reggie try to get us to come back to Texas this year. After a while we decided to go and have a late lunch at a place about 50 miles away. We went to Cave Restaurant and Resort just outside of Richland MO. This place was kinda of neat and is way back off the road. They have a shuttle the picks you up and takes you to the elevator so you can get to the restaurant. The restaurant seats 225 is located in a real cave with waterfalls, fish ponds, delicious food and a beautiful view of the Gasconade River. Back in the 1920's believe or not this was a dance hall. They also have four Cabins you can rent at $80 a night. We would come back here again. Here is their web site - www.thecaverestaurantandresort.com. After all that we went back and talk a while longer and said our good bys before we left to go back to camp. We will leave in the morning for Miami OK to meet up with Mike & Sandy.

We got off about 8:45 a.m. this morning and headed for Miami OK. About and hour in to the drive the winds started picking up. I think we had about 30-40 miles an hour side winds. It was tough driving this way but we only going about 200 miles. Made it about 1 p.m. to Buffalo Run Casino and met Mike & Sandy. After we site up the women wanted to go to Wal-Mart. Later we went to another Casino for something to eat and did a little gambling. On the way back to camp it started to rain and man did it rain. It rain and blew till about mid night. We will be here till Tuesday and then to Coffeyville KS to work.

Not much going on just visiting a few casino in the area and just relaxing.

Same as Sunday but Gary & Linda are coming by for a short visit on there way thru. We have not seen them since last March. We will leave in the morning for Coffeyville KS.

Having a cup of coffee before we start packing up for the 60 mile trip to Coffeyville KS. We should be there by noon. We start to work on Thursday. Well we made it here to Big Chief Camp Ground in Coffeyville KS around 10 a.m. and set up camp.

Lake Leelanau Fishing Trip 2012
It is September 18, 2012 and we are in Lake Leelanau RV Park up near Sutton Bay MI. We arrive here about 1:30 pm yesterday to meet up with Chuck & Vickie. They have been here a week already enjoying a few days alone. I think Vickie has caught 3 Walleye to only one of Chucks. When we arrive it started to rain and has been doing that off and on. I hope it won't rain all the time we are up so we can get some fishing in. We did go to get a Pizza yesterday in Sutton Bay. It has been raining here of & on all day. No fishing today so we went to the Casino and then to Sutton Bay for some shopping. After we got back from Sutton Bay we play cards until it was time to go to bed. Not much to do when it rains all day.
September 19th (Wednesday) and it rain all night long but the sun is out now but only 43 degrees here. I think we will be able to go fishing today. Maybe in a couple of hours after it warms up. Well we did go out this morning and Lois caught a couple fish (Perch, and a Sun Fish). I think we was out for about an hour before the weather turn and got real windy and cold. After we got back in we decided go back to the Casino and try our luck again but it was not any better than the last time there. Chuck & Vickie fix supper and then we played cards.
September 20th (Thursday) and the lakes looks calm for right now but the clouds are coming in again. Not sure if we are going to try it again or not. Well we went to Traverse City so the ladies good do a little shopping and then back to camp. Lois is fixing ribs for dinner tonight and is having Chuck & Vickie over. While she was working on that I decided to try going fishing for a hour. After getting out on the lake the winds decided to start blowing again and I came back in. After supper we played cards for a while.
September 21st (Friday) Its about 7 a.m. and its not looking good for today either. I guess we wait and see what happens. We decided to try fishing this morning and was not out an hour before it just started raining and before we could get off the lake. Well we got wet this time. We did not do much rest of the day but stay around the camp. Chuck fix supper for us all and we played cards also. About 4:30 p.m. we went back out to fish again and stay out for about three (3) hours. Vickie caught a nice big perch about 14" but when she got to the dock she went to show us the perch and she drop it and back into the lake it went. She will not forget this for a long time and we won't let her.
September 22 (Saturday) Just looking out the window and all I see is dark clouds. It has rain all night long and some times it sounded like hail. Its only 45 degrees right now and the high is only going to be 58 degrees today. Don't look like we are going fishing today. We did not go fishing at all today so we decided to go back to the Casino. Lois found a way to win so we pretty much broke even this week at the Casino. Later we went with Chuck & Vickie to a Soup & Salad pot luck up to the club house. After that we played cards till it was time to call it a day.
September 23 (Sunday) its only 43 degrees this morning and we will not be going fishing today. Instead we will start breaking camp to get ready to leave in the morning. So this is it for this trip.

Little River Casino
Well its Saturday Morning a day before we head out to Manistee MI to the Little River Casino. Steve & Susie will be traveling with us up there. They have been here since Wednesday staying over at the Camp Ground about a mile from us. We have gone out to eat a couple of times and we ate here at our place last night. Steve brought steaks and we put them on the grill. We have had a great time with them and Steve & I did manage to get nine holes of golf in the other day. Today Lois and Susie are going to the grocery store to get a few things and Steve & I will have some quite time. We will be leaving about 9 a.m. heading north for a week.
Its Sunday morning about 6 a.m. and we have started getting ready for our trip north to Manistee MI. We arrive at Little River about 1:30 p.m. with Steve & Susie. We got set up and did a little visiting we some friends we had not see in a while and the about 5 p.m. we had a pot luck with Greg & Judy supplying the Hot Dogs & Brats. I been told its all about food when we get this age.
Monday we went to breakfast and then did gambling for a while. Lois won some and I also did to. Later that this day we all met up at the gazebo for happy hour.
On Tuesday we all went to a steak supper at the casino and then went to Scottville MI for a concert to see the clown band.
On Wednesday everyone did what ever they wanted to do and did not do much of anything. Later on we all met up to the gazebo and left for the beach to see the sun set. After that we stop at a DQ for some ice cream.
On Thursday we all met at the Casino for a brunch before we met at the gazebo for games and snacks. We all said our goodbye's before we left for home and some left to go up north and the U.P. Only one of us is still at the casino and that is Steve & Susie. Steve has some truck problems to fix before he can move on to meet up with the rest.
