Fall/Winter & Spring 2010/2011

Today we got the laundry done early and then went to Wal-Mart. What a mess that was, with lots of people hurrying getting the last Christmas shopping done. Could not get out of that place any too soon. Spent the rest of the day just visiting with friends. Mel & Joyce from the VIP park stop by to chat for a while. Around 4 pm we went over to Reggie & Amanda place for some margaritas and sat around an chatted. All in all it was a nice day and evening. Oh yea everyone have a Merry Christmas.

Fall/Winter & Spring 2010/2011

We did a lot around the 5th wheel yesterday getting things in order for our stay here in Breeze Wood Cove. Lois had a lot of things to do inside and I took care of the outside. We still need to wash the 5th wheel yet and the truck. Today we are going to do laundry and then to Wal-Mart to get a few things.

Yesterday around 5 o'clock Bill & Judye came over from Welsco and we went out supper. Its was good to see them again. The last time was up in Conroe TX at the HH Rally back in October. Judye and Bill both had colds so they did not stay after supper. We will see them on Christmas Day again.

Well we made it to the RGV yesterday around 1:30 pm and sit up camp (Temp. was in the 80's and breezy). While in route here we spotted a Cruiser being pulled with a truck like our friends Don & Carol. Thought for a moment they had come to join us. Upon arrival we were greeted by many friends from last year. Our neighbors from Missouri (Reggie & Amanda) had a beer waiting for me after I had sit up. Friends that we travel with (Mike & Sandra) are camp at a sit a little ways from us. We'll finish sitting up today and will have supper with friends (Bill & Judye). They are in the Valley for the winter and staying about 20 miles away.

We made it to Victoria TX yesterday about 4:30 pm. Drove about 372 miles before we got here. When got here it was in the 80's and a little breeze blowing. Man what beautiful weather. After we sit up we went and got fuel for$2.88 at a Murphy's and than went to Denney's for supper. After all that we went to HEB for some fruit and then back to the 5th wheel for the night.

Well we hit the road yesterday and travel about 305 miles to Thackerville OK. When we arrive here it was in the 80's and we are loving it. Our friends and us went to the 3rd largest casino in the world last night. We had a nice supper at the Toby Keith Bar & Grill. After that we split up went out to do some gambling. Lois & I won about $30.00 a piece. We thought we better head back to the 5th wheel and not give it back to the casino. Our friends back home (Don & Carol) this might be a place to come. This place is huge. Its about a mile long. Well got to get things together to hit the road again.

This is our last to days of work here at Amazon and we can not wait to hit the road. Should be in Texas sometime this week (God willing and the creek don't raise). Starting to say our good byes to our working friends. Thursday night went to supper with a group to Jack's in Liberty Kansas, they have $1.25 burgers on Thursdays. Last night we went out to eat with an other group at Eggsberts in Coffeeville. This was the best part of the job was meeting new friends and sharing camping stories. It's all about eating you know. We will do laundry tonight and get things ready to hit the road.

Its been a couple of days since I said anything but this is short and sweet. Woke up this morning and the temp. outside was 20 degrees and dropping. We just got a week and a half before we get out of here.

Well I thought yesterday was cold, when I woke this morning it was 15 degrees and it felt like it was 6 degrees. We got to get to a warmer place.

Its been a while since I had any thing to say and I still don't. We have working on the week-ends and on Wednesday. We been to Tulsa a couple of times to shop and to the Casino. We also been over to Bartletsville OK for shopping and the Casino. Other than that we have not done much for excitement. The weather has been damp and cold here lately. Will write more when I have something to say.

We went up to Chanute KS yesterday to take a tour of the factory. Mike & Sandy wanted to see what NuWa had to offer. They was impress with the quality & care that was give to each unit being built. Maybe with some luck they might think about buying one.

Well today was our first full day at Amazon and it was a long day. It brought back memories from last year. I'm not hurting as bad as I did last year but my feet was tired. Our friends that came down here to work are hurting a little bit more than we are but I think they might make it. We will see how things are tomorrow after 10 hours.

Yesterday (Thursday) Paul & Dottie stop for the night here at Big Chief. They had just came from Chanute KS at the factory. They are heading for NV and AR for the most of the winter. We went out to Eggbert's for pie and cake and after that back to camp for some conversation. They will be leaving around 7:30 a.m..

Today is the day before we start working and its cold this morning, down in the 30's. It must be another cold snap coming down from the north. Well don't have much more to say so I'll stop writing.

Fall/Winter & Spring 2010/2011

Our friends from MN show up on Thursday afternoon. On Friday we drove them around to show them some of the area here. On Saturday we went to Tulsa OK for the day and stop at a Casino for a few hours. We all left some behind there. On our way back to the camp ground Steve & Susy call and said they would see us Sunday around 4 p.m. and spend the night before they head back to KC. It will be nice to see them again.

Today is our first day at Amazon. We have a meet & greet a 2 p.m. for about 2 hrs.This is going to be a little different from last year. This year Amazon is doing the hiring themselves. We will wait and see how it goes.

Up and ready for another day. This Steve & Susy just before they left for home. Also Paul & Dottie just before they left for Chanute KS.

Its Wednesday and not much going on with us at this time. Waiting for Sunday to come around so we can get started. Lois is always busy cleaning and doing something in the 5th wheel.

Yesterday evening I talked to a couple of friends of ours from home. The first was Don & Carol and they are planning their retirement that is coming up soon. Carol in January & Don in April. I also talked to Chuck & Vickie I ask them if they have any of that white stuff they call snow. It was good to talk to them. I invited both couples to come to Texas to visit us this winter. They are always welcome any time.

We are waiting for a couple of friends that will be working with us at Amazon this year. They are in Seneca MO. at a casino having fun. They should be here around Thursday or Friday. After we get done here at Amazon we will all leave together for Texas.

Well we made it here to Big Chief RV Park in Coffeyville KS around 2:30 p.m. yesterday. We sit up camp for 8 weeks. We park close to some friends we made last year here. The park is not bad. It does not have any trees yet. This park was just built this year and they had a lot of rain early that made it hard to work on. It will be a nice park when it is completed. We have a whole week before we start anything at Amazon. So Lois & I will get laundry done and get some groceries. I will take some pictures of the park an post them.

We had a blast at the HHI this year and hope to see our friends next year. Most of the gang will be heading for LA to a rodeo but some of us went to work. That is ok and I hope they have a lot of fun at the rodeo.

Well its Saturday and we are up at 6 a.m. getting around to leave sometime around 9 a.m.. I think we will be going about 2 to 300 miles today.

I am not sure how far we went yesterday but it was not quite 300 miles. We stop just north of Paris TX for the night. It was raining hard and getting a hard to see the road so we stop. Will be back on the road again around 8 a.m..

Sorry folks but its been a busy week here at the Rally. In the last couple of days we have play games and went to seminars and had live entertainment, beside going out to eat with the gang. This is Friday morning and rigs are starting to pull out of here and head where ever they want to go. We have already seen about a half dozen pull out. We will not leave till the morning on Saturday.

Yesterday we played Bean Bag Baseball. I think there was about 6 teams and we came in last. We all practice on the WII Bowling and went to a luncheon for the greasy hats (its a man thing). Last night we went to a place call Kirby's BBQ. I believe we had about 20 people there and after that we had entertainment. They had some of guys get up stage and try and act sexy. My moves not move like they used too. We forgot our camera so we did not get any pictures.

We made it here to Conroe Lake in Montgomery TX at the KOA RV Park about 3 p.m. yesterday along with Steve & Susy. When we got here the weather was 85 + degrees. After we set up we went to a Texas Opry dinner & show $20.00 a person. The food was good and the show was entertaining. Both Lois & I was pretty tired, we had a long day. I did take a couple of pictures at show but not sure if they turn out. Will post them if they did.

This Monday morning and I was just sitting here thinking about playing golf. When Lois said why don't you go and play. Well I did just what I was told to do. We play 18 holes and it was not a pretty picture. It was pretty hot out there on the course and they only had a couple of watering holes. Later we had the annual Haulin' Hitchhikers meeting and pot luck. After that we all went to the opening ceremonies.

Its Saturday morning and we are up at 5 a.m. getting things ready for the trip to the HHI Rally. I can not do much till the sun comes out but Lois is busy taking care of the things inside. We are traveling down to Conroe TX with Steve & Susy. Should be in Conroe by 2 p.m.

We left Glenn Oaks RV Park around 8 a.m. and headed for Texarkana TX. We got here at the COE Park (Rocky Point Camp Ground) about 5 p.m.. Our friends Steve & Susy was waiting for us and they had supper ready when we arrived. Now how cool is that. We will be here till Saturday and then on to Conroe TX and the HHI Rally. Well we had to move to another camp ground a couple of miles away from here. It seems that they have no sites available for tonight. Well we made it to Glenn Oaks RV Park in Buckhorn MO around 5 pm last night. After we set up for the night I called Reggie & Amanda Davis our friends who are our neighbors in Texas. We met them for coffee and talk a couple of hours at a McDonalds.

We are going try and make Texarcana TX today to meet up with some more friends at Rocky Point Campground. We will be traveling together to the HHI Rally in Conroe TX.

Wednesday morning and we are up and getting around. The cats (Mittens & Friskers) are acting up and messing with Lois this morning. Its like watching a couple of kids doing there thing.

While I was checking my e-mail I had a idea so I e-mail Carol and invited them to come down to Texas for a couple of weeks this winter. Carol said that Don still had to work but my answer to that was that he needs a vacation before he retires. I think they are thinking about it and they don't even half to take their 5th wheel just fly down.

There is not much to say this morning. We are up early and will be getting the last thing pack in the 5th wheel. Will be leaving between now and noon. The first night we will stay a camping world in Greenwood IN. Well I guess I better get started before I get yell at.

Well we made it to Greenwood IN and are staying at Camping World for the night. If Don & Carol and Chuck & Vickie are reading this we will see you all in the spring. You guys have a great winter and try and stay warm and healthy.

Well its Monday the day before we leave for Texas and all through the 5th wheel everything is put away for travel. Went to the store to do last minute shopping. Got all the leaves pick up and grass cut. We leave in the morning after I blow out all the water lines and empty the hot water tank. Also will shut off gas & electric to the stove and hot water heater, except for the furnace, freezer and what lights we leave on for winter.

Lois & I was setting at the dinning room table when she realize that the Post Office is close on Monday. She had not got her priority envelopes so we can have our neighbor send our mail to us. Now we will have to run up there on Tuesday morning before we leave. Lois as completed the cleaning in the 5th wheel and all is left is loading it for travel.

We will wash the vehicles today and run to the store for last minute things we need. I think my brother and his wife might show up today. It has been a while since he has been over.

Well friends Lois & I pulled the 5th wheel into the driveway so we can clean and pack it for the trip to the Hitchhiker Rally (Conroe TX) then Coffeyville KS and back to the valley in Texas. I washed the 5th wheel so that is out of the way. Got stuff loaded in the basement so that it is out of the way. Lois is still cleaning and putting things in their place. We have had some beautiful weather here the last couple of days so it makes it easier to do what we are doing. I got the grass cut and leaves taken care of for the time being. Will rake the leaves one more time before we leave.

We went out to supper with our friends Don & Carol the other night so we good say our good-byes. They will keep in touch with us to let us know how things are up here. I also called Chuck & Vickie to say are good-byes over the phone and also to wished Chuck a Happy Birthday ahead of time cause his birthday is Tuesday . I said that we would keep in touch with them while we are gone.

Sunday morning and there is sunshine out there. Don & Carol went with us to Cheryl's and met Chuck & Vicki for breakfast. Chuck & Vicki said they was going after breakfast to West Branch to look at a trailer there. After breakfast Don & Carol and Lois & I pack up and head for home. We got home around 3 p.m. and unpacked the fifth wheel. We will be home for a couple of weeks before we will be off again.

Saturday morning got up and made coffee and its still rainy outside. Made up my mind an decided to make a camp fire. After a bit Don came out and stood with me at the fire waiting for the women to get ready to go for breakfast. We decided to go to a new place call Cheryl's. We got there about 9:45 a.m. and met up with Chuck & Vicki. Cheryl's has a good breakfast and not expensive. After breakfast we went shopping so the ladies good do there thing. It rain on & off most of the day so we drove around for a while and so a few wind mills. After we got back we just sat around the camp fire between the rain drops. Around 5 p.m. we cook hot dogs and hamburgers and play cards for a while. About 10 p.m. we said good night and we to our camp site. Call Chuck & Vicki and ask them if they wanted to meet for breakfast in the morning.

Its Friday morning and its raining but after we had our breakfast we left for a R.V. Show they were having in Cadillac. When we got there the rain had stop for a little bit but the wind was blowing hard. We started looking around at what R.V. they had there. There was a Carriage Cameo that has a slide that goes the full length of the 5th wheel. As we was standing outside talking to the salesman about the 5th wheel a couple of friends that we have known for a long time, but have not seen or spoken to in three years came over to see us. We all stood and talk for about a half hour and decided to go have coffee at McDonalds. We sat and talk for quite a while and our friends (Chuck & Vickie) ask us all to come over for drinks and home made apple pie around 6 pm that evening.

That evening after Don & Carol along with us sat and talk about old times and what has been happening in all our lives. It sure feels great to rekindle an old friendship. We sat for about 4 hours and just talked. About 10 pm we came back to our camp site.

Fall 2010/Cadillac Michigan

Here it is Thursday the 23rd of Sept. and we are off to Cadillac MI for the week-end camping with our good friends Don & Carol. We will leave about 3 pm and will wait for Don & Carol at a rest stop. They are still working and will not be leaving till around 4:30 pm. They both will retire next year, Carol in Jan. and Don in April.

Well we made here to Mitchell State Park in Cadillac MI around 7 pm along with Don & Carol. After we sit up our rigs we headed for a place to eat. Got back from eating some supper and just sat around the picnic table and talk.

Well the rest of the Samboree went well. It rain off and on most of the week while we were there. On Sunday we all got ready to leave and said our good byes. We got home around 2 p.m. and we will be leaving on Thursday afternoon for Cadillac MI.

Fall 2010/Otisville Michigan

Well its been a while since I wrote anything. Today we are heading for Otisville MI for a Good Sams Rally there. We should be leaving around 10 a.m.. Lois got up early this morning so she good bake a cake to take with us. Well will write more later tonight. We took off around 10:20 a.m. and headed for Otisville MI. We met up with some friends about 10 miles from the camp ground and we all came in together. After we got set up about 4 couples of us went back into town for supper. Got back a couple of hours later and all had cake and coffee at Bob & Irene 5th wheel.

It is Tuesday and not much going on till later tonight. Lois and & I along with Myron & Sherry went over to Burch Run to a Outlet Mall so the women go do so shopping. We had lunch at a Sonic drive in. After we got back to camp there had been a few other trailers and 5th wheel pull in. It is good to see old friends again. Around 7 p.m. I went up and D.J. for karaoke with Dennis. This time it was great because Dennis had all the music in the computer. What a set up he had and it was so easy to look up songs. While that was going on Lois and a few of the ladies were playing a card game. Around 9 p.m. we close it down and went back to our trailers.

Wednesday Lois bake a cake for the pot luck to night. Lois & I and two other couples went into Flint MI for lunch and a little shopping for the ladies. After that chapter 52 had their pot luck. If you are on a diet do not go to one of these. After the pot luck they had bingo and some of the ladies along with Lois play cards after the bingo. Us guys went back and relaxes.

Summer 2010/Leisure Campground

Well we hit the road yesterday for about 100 miles to Leisure Lake Campground in Summer MI. This is where we met up with about 9 other HH for the MM (Michigan Mini). When we got here there was already 5 HH here. We all got together around 6 PM for Hamburgers and Hot Dogs furnish by Greg & Judy. We sat around for a while visiting with each other and around 9:30 PM we had bond fire. It was nice to have one since its been hot here in Michigan and no one wanted to have one.

Here it is Wednesday and we have been having some great weather here. All together we have had 11 units show up for the Michigan Mini. Paul & Dottie Lantz show yesterday. They was on the the way home from Alaska to PA and decided to stop by for a couple of days. Our friends from FL was on there way home from Traverse City MI and also decided to stop by for a couple of days.

Well its has been a great M&M here at Leisure Lake. I believe everyone had a good time at the M&M. Four units left on Thursday and the rest of us left today. We got home about 1:30 PM and got 5th wheel unloaded. We will be home for about 3 weeks before we had to Otisville MI for the GSR.

Well we made it back safe and sound. Got home around 4:30 pm yesterday. It was a good drive up and not any rain. We stop and ate at a truck stop before we came home. Well till the next trip we will be seeing you.

On Wednesday Lois & Carol did laundry and we all just sat around and did nothing. We did go to Steak & Shank for supper and drove around Bedford area before we came back to camp and play cards. That is about all we did yesterday.

Yesterday we went to breakfast at a little place in Bedford IN called Old Buggy. It was very good place to go. After that we went to French Lick to a Casino for a couple of hours. We all just left a view bucks there for the Indians. Left there and drove back to a couple of stores so the ladies go do some shopping.

Later we went and saw the Longest Cover Bridge in the U.S., it was under reconstruction. And then went to Brownstown IN for some Ice Cream.

Summer 2010

Yesterday morning we left and drove over to Brown County State Park. This is a very big State Park and beautiful one. After driving around in the State Park for and hour we went to Little Nashville IN and had lunch. The ladies went Thur a couple of shops but stop because it was real humid their. Today I think we will go to a Casino and few other places.

Summer 2010/Bedford IN

Well its over for this year and we all said our good byes as we head our separate ways. We left yesterday around 9 AM and arrive at Free Spirit RV Resort in Bedford IN around 4 PM. Don & Carol and Lois & I went to a Pizza Hut for supper last night. After that we drove around to see what Bedford IN had and came back to camp and crashed.

Its been to hot down here in TN to do much. We drive around a little a see some of the country side and then right back to camp to the A/C. We will be leaving in the morning for IN and hopefully its a bit cooler there.

Its been awful hot here for the last few days. While in down town Nashville it was 101 so we came back to the camp site and try to stay cool. Here at the camp site it was 95 +. Have not done a lot since we been here just look around Nashville and Lebanon. We visited with other forum members and just sat around talk.

Got up yesterday and it was already humid. Got out the flags and couple of other things. We decided to check out Lebanon TN and stop at Wal-mart for a few things. While we was gone Big Greg and Judy came into camp. There was a couple of other forum members that show up also. We sit around for our Five O'clock Somewhere.

Well we arrive here at Country Side Resort in Lebanon TN about 3 PM Saturday with Don & Carol. It was a nice drive of 305 miles from Green Wood IN where we stay (Camping World) for the first night. The Camp ground owners are real nice people and welcome us with open arms. We have are site and are all set up but Don & Carol had to take another site till morning cause some one is on the their site. We came in early so we could look around the area and see what is there.

Summer 2010/Lebanon TN

Well we are getting ready to hit the road again in a couple of hours. We are heading for Lebanon TN to meet up with some friends at a forum rally. Don & Carol will be traveling with us to TN and then to some other place.

Lois washed the 5th wheel yesterday and I washed the truck. It started raining about 10 minutes after we had finished. They look better then what it did.

Summer 2010

We took off from Eagle Casino Camp Ground around 8:30 AM and drove straight through. I do not do this very often, its to much driving for one day for me. It rain about half way down so we decided to go all the way home. We got her about 7 PM last night. It was a good trip up north and a busy one. Maybe next time we can just sit back and take it easy.

We leave on Friday for Lebanon TN with a couple of friends to meet up with some other friends down there. Will spend a week there and not to sure what else is planed. I'm just the driver you know.

Summer 2010

Its was a beautiful day yesterday. In the 90's and sunny. We all went to the casino and play for a couple of hours and came back to the camp site and play Peg's & Jokers. Around 8:30 we went to Hermansville to watch the fire works. This a very small town just a few miles north east of the casino. They had quit the show of fire works for such a small town. It was well worth going and seeing the fire works there.

On Wednesday we drove on back roads to Menominee MI and had lunch at the Pizza Hut there and then we drove over to Marinette WI.

Yesterday we drove about 230 miles north west of here on some more back roads to Watersmeet MI. It just happens to have a casino there. We stop and play a little but did not have any luck. On the way to Watersmeet MI we stop at a little town to have lunch. After we got back to camp we show the rest of the gang how to play Pegs & Jokers.

Monday we left around 9:30 am a went to Iron Mountain. On the way we stop at Fumee Falls. Then we stop at Pine Mountain where the Ski Jump is. That is where they practice for Olympics. While we was there we visited a Veteran Memorial that had been added to the grounds. After that we drove thru Iron Mountain and went over to Wisconsin in a small town (Kingsford) to have lunch and then back to camp.

Well we made it to the casino camp ground. We set up camp and then went to the casino to register and do a little gambling. Later we all had a spaghetti dinner at the camp site. The ladies went and play bingo and us guys went back to Escanaba to Wal-Mart for a couple of movies. We only get one channel up here. While there we check out the fair grounds just to see how many was left there. There was a few left yet but I think most will leave tomorrow.

Saturday night we saw or I saw the Da Yoopers show. They really tune it down compare to there normal show. Lois did not make the last night she was not feeling well.

Its Sunday and we said our goodbyes and broke camp and drove about 20 miles to Island Resort Casino. We will be camping at the casino till after the 4th of July.

Well we got here in Escanaba MI about 10:30 am and set up camp for the week. We got all sign in on Wednesday I pulled guard duty for the next two nights from 8-10 pm. Lois worked with the raffle tickets on Thursday and she will again on Saturday. I pick up a cold the first we got here and now Lois is getting it. Lois play Bingo on Wednesday a won a couple of times. We got to play golf on Friday morning and the team I was on took first place and the team Lois was on was in last place. It was a best ball and we all had a good time. There is Entertainment here all three nights the first night was a Barbershop Quartet and last night a band play from the area. They were good and to night the DA YOOPERS will be here (can't miss that show). Well its been raining here all week off and on and today is no exception.

Summer 2010/Escanaba Michigan

We took off yesterday for the U.P. of Michigan. We stopped at North Higgins Lake State Park for the night. The reason we stopped here was we know the Host. We met Connie down in Texas last winter and found out she was from MI. She pulls here fifth wheel and is full timing it by here self. She is a little rough around the edges but that is Connie. We met here son and two grand daughters and had a camp out supper with them.

We will be heading across the bridge today headed for Escanaba MI for a Good Sam Rally. We will be there for a couple of weeks before we head home.

We got the 5th wheel all clean up inside & out. We put it up for a few weeks or so. Lois worked on the inside very hard so it will be ready to go again. We got the outside wash also.

Lois is on her way to the store for some grocery, while I stay home and do things around the place.

Well Lois & I made it back home around noon yesterday, safe and sound. The truck ran good (knock on wood) all the way up from Alabama. Now the work begins in cleaning out the 5th wheel and washing all the bugs we pick up. All in all it was a pretty good winter. We met and became friends with new people. Reggie & Amada from MO, Mike & Sharon from MN, Jesse & Betty from IN and Connie from MI. Also Joe & Jan from Taylor MI but we knew them from last year. They are still in La Feria TX till the end of the Month. Oh I forgot Melvin & Joyce also from MO and we also knew them from last year. Well we left Cullman Alabama about 7:15am and headed north toward home. The traffic was light going thru Nashville Tennessee and Louisville KY. We made it to Greenwood IN at Camping World and spent the night. We drove about 420 miles. We should be home on Monday around 1pm or so.

Its Saturday morning and we are getting around so we can start heading north today. Yesterday we went to Florida now Lois can put it on her map. We sat on the beach for a while and took in some sun. Saw some Dolphins feeding and playing around while we were there. Could not get any pictures, they were to far out. We play cards after we got back with Jesse & Betty until dark.

We got started about 8:40 am this morning and headed north. The traffic going north today was bad. It seems that everyone had the same idea about leaving. We made it as far as Cullman Alabama and Jesse & Betty are some where in Tennesse. They needed to be home by Sunday afternoon.

We made it here to Gulf Shores at the State Park. Jesse & Betty came here with us for a couple of days. This park is very nice but we got here while spring break is going on. The ladies went shopping and Jesse & I looking at other place while we waited for the ladies to get done. Went to Micky D's last night for supper.

Yesterday we went to the visitor center here in the park and watch a movie about the park (quite informative). After that the ladies went and did some shopping near by. When they got back they had decided to have a picnic lunch on the beach. After lunch we all went to the casino (Hard Rock) to play a little. I left there with more money then I took in there this time.

We are heading out this morning for Gulf Shores for a couple of days before we start are trip up to the north. Looks like good weather all the way home this time.

We are still here in Ocean Springs MS trying to win money at the casinos. We made enough to pay for supper last night at the Pizza Hut. We will be here till Thursday and then going to Gulf Shores area for a couple of days. Here are some pictures that we took on the way here. Also a picture of a Gator laying in the Sun.

Lois & I arrived at Ocean Springs MS around 2:30 pm and setup camp. We are in a National Park near the Ocean. On yes there are plenty of casinos in the area for Lois to play. Put first we had to go and find the Wal-mart store. We met up with friends from Breeze Wood Cove in La Feria TX. We are going to the casinos today, so maybe just maybe we can win some of the money we spent in Victoria Tx getting the truck fixed. We will let you know if we win. Like that going to happen.

Lois & I took off about 9am this morning headed for Shreveport La. We made it thru Houston and was going toward Shreveport La on highway 59 and decided to take I-10 instead. The truck is running good, so lets hope it makes it all the way home with no troubles. While on I-10 we were behind a small truck and he was going slower than any of the traffic and had a blow out right in front of us. We had pieces of tire all over us and I manage to stop in time. We travel about 320 miles today and stop at a little camp ground near Fenton La for the night.

Its Saturday and we are in Victoria TX. About 75 miles out from La Feria TX the truck started to miss. We manage to get to Victoria TX and get parked. We are in the Lazy Longhorn RV park. Took the truck to the Ford dealer to get fixed. They said I had a bad injector and Fuel Regulator. After $2100.00 I needed a 5 o'clock somewhere. Got the truck back on Friday afternoon and we will stay till Sunday before we head out. Some friends from La Feria are here in the same park. Some other friends we know had a bad experience getting out of a gas station. They hit a pump barrier and tore up the back part of their rig. Its been an interesting few days. It seems that there are a few other rigs in this park are waiting to be repaired. Let me out of here.

Well its the morning before the day we head back home. Lois has a few things to finish up in the 5th wheel and I also have a couple of things left to do be for we head out in the morning. Went out to supper with some of the people that are still left here in the park last night. We all went to the American Legion for Spaghetti. Today we will be going out with Joe & Jan from V.I.P. park. They are from Taylor MI. and have a place at V.I.P. park and a 5th wheel that they rent out in the winter there.

Lois & I went on a tour of Rio Grande City with Joe & Jan from VIP park. We took a trolley around the town for about two hours. It was interesting to hear some of the history of this town. After that we stop in a little town near the river to see a barge but we had for gotten our pass ports. We stop to eat on the way home in McAllen TX at Loggan's but would not go back there again.

Well its been a while since I wrote anything in this blog. We have been trying to stay warm down here most of the time. The weather has been quite cool this year here. The locals here say its been one of the coldest they seen.

Lois & I have been going to different RV Parks to listen to the bands and dance. We do not have this back home in MI or we have not fun it there yet. I guess we are going on the Rio Grande River boat tour next week (will take pictures). Also going to Rio Grande City for a tour of the city next week also. We also went to where Freddy Fender is buried (the phones is on the grave stone. While we was at the site we notice a animal in the cemetery and was not sure what it was.

I got all of the jacks on now and do work. A friend came by and help me put them on.
We have not been doing much lately cause the weather has turned cold again. We did go dancing and did go down to South Padre Island to see the Kite Fest on Sunday. It was windy and a little cool but the kites were beautiful to see in the sky. We got there around 10:30 and left about 1:30. There was a lady trying to feeds the birds and Lois took a picture of it.

We got some great weather in the last few days, it feels good to see the sun. Been out doing some dancing at other parks with friends. Went to TOT (Tip OF Texas) dancing last night and going to see the Cruisers tonight.
I got the JT's Strong Arm Jack Stabilizer on the 5th wheel yesterday (just the fronts) will put the back on today if possible.

Its been so cold down here that we have not done too much in the past week. Sunday was a nice an some what warm day so we just got out and drove down to Brownsville so Lois could do some shopping. After we got back from Brownsville went to the American Legion and dance. Yesterday we went to McAllen to the HH luncheon. There was about 88 people there for the luncheon. After that we stop at Academy store so Lois could get some cleats for her golf shoes. Got back and check our mail.

The New Year came an gone and so did the warm weather. It is going to be down in the high 20's by Friday and highs only about 40 degrees, but it is that way every where. We have not done much since the weather as gone cold, but I did play golf yesterday and it was chilly playing.
I guess Lois & I will do laundry today and go to the store for some supplies. Joyce & Mel stop by yesterday to say hi and I guess we are going out to eat with them on Friday night. Last night we did go over to the neighbors and taught them how to play Peg & Jokers. We play till after 11 pm, women 2 games to the men 2 games (guess us men taught them).

Its a New Year 2010, Lois was in bed by 9 pm and I was by midnight. Did not see the New Year come in but did hear it. Lots of fire works going off as the New Year came in. Woke up this morning and the winds had shifted again coming from the north with more cold. It was about 46 degrees and windy again.
We went over to Mel & Joyce yesterday about 3 pm for some drinks before they went out to party. Chuck Munson stop by and so did Donna. They both was glad to see us and we them. We stay about an hour 1 1/2 and visited with them.
